On-site generation
Distributed generation sized to the facility and its load profile, designed alongside the building rather than bolted on after the fact. When the same company builds the structure and the power plant, the two schedules are one schedule.
Solid oxide fuel cells
Solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) systems generate power electrochemically on site, running continuously at high efficiency with no combustion. For a facility that needs firm, always on power without waiting on a transmission upgrade, they are often the fastest path to energized.
Microgrids and resilience
A microgrid ties generation, storage, and load together so a facility can island from the grid and keep running. For mission critical and federal work, that is not a sustainability feature. It is the whole point.
